This 3 Days Rwanda Primates Tour takes you for a chimpanzee trekking tour in Rwanda’s one and only Nyungwe forest national park where you experience a very close encounter with the endangered Rwanda primates in this largest montane forest in Central Africa. Besides the chimpanzee tracking adventures, you will also be lucky to meet more other primates species such as the black and white colobus monkeys, Rwenzori colobus, and over 300 bird species, orchids, and butterflies in this jungle forest on this 3 Days Primates safari in Rwanda.

On arrival in Kigali, a tour guide from Gorilla Adventure Tours and after a briefing about your 3 Days Rwanda Primates tour, you will be transferred to Nyungwe forest national park through Kigali on a 4 hours journey. You may ask your driver for photographic stopover moments along the way. On arrival at the park headquarters, you will check-in at the One and Only Nyungwe House or Nyungwe Forest lodge for your 3 Days Primates Tracking Safari accommodation. In the evening, you will enjoy views of the suburbs of the evergreen Nyungwe forest and tea plantations then have dinner and slumber at your lodge.
Today morning, we shall have a sumptuous breakfast and then set off to meet other fellow primates trackers of the day at the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzees and monkey tracking in Nyungwe forest. By 8:00 am, the search for the Nyungwe primates begins!. The park guides are experienced and knowledgeable about Nyungwe’s wildlife, they will provide you with all the relevant information about the behavior of the primates, that is, how they feed, reproduce and pray with each other, thus making your trip informative.
Nyungwe Forest is home to over 13 primates species, and among those to look out for include; the chimpanzees, the handsome L’Hoest’s monkey, the endangered golden monkeys, strong troops of the delightfully acrobatic Angola Colobus, vervet monkeys, Silver Monkey, Hamlyn’s Monkey, Red-tailed Monkey, Dent’s Mona Monkey, Olive Baboon, Grey-cheeked Mangabeys and so on.
The trek will also expose you to excellent birding. Nyungwe forest harbors almost 300 bird species of which two dozen are restricted to a handful of montane forests on the Albertine Rift. These include; the great blue Turaco and the Rwenzori Turaco, paradise flycatcher, a long-tailed blue, orange and white bird, and the forest hornbills among others.
After the primates and bird watching experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch, relax and wait for dinner and overnight.
End of the 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Tour
Being our last day of the Rwanda primates tour, we shall have a day hike before exiting the park for Kigali. The trail will take us to the Gusakula Tea Estates and Lake Kivu for an exciting excursion and hike of the day. (2-3hrs walk). After a stretcher of the hiking activity, embark on your trip to Kigali for your flight back home with lunch en-route.
