This 7 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife safari is the absolute primate, big five and wildlife safari that takes you through the major four of Uganda’s national parks. The safari first takes you to Kibale national park for chimpanzee tracking,bird watching and nature walks in Bigodi community swamp, then to Queen Elizabeth National Park for game viewing in the savannah, a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel giving you a chance to view over 611 bird species, crocodiles and hundreds of Hippos and lastly to Bwindi gorilla forest for your gorilla trekking adventure.

Some of the wildlife includes; Lions, Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Rhino, Leopard(the big five animals), Crocodiles, hyena, Giraffe, Bushback, Waterbuck, etc. This 7 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari in this park also includes a Boat cruise where you get to see thousands of hippos, birds such as the African fish eagle and other animals as they come for a water break on the banks of river Nile.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National park.

In the morning after breakfast, you will be picked from the hotel by the guide/driver, and set off to Bwindi National park in Southwestern Uganda, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. You will have photography en route at the equator and lunch in Mbarara town before proceeding via the mountainous Kabale town, also known as “Switzerland of Africa”. Reach Bwindi in the evening for dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest camp (Luxury)/Silverback Lodge (Deluxe)/Buhoma community bandas(Budget).

Day 2: Gorilla tracking adventure and Nature walk/cultural walk.

This morning you will have to wake up very early to get ready for Gorilla tracking. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are always park guides with you who interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. In the evening after tracking the gorillas, you may go for a cultural walk in the nearby Batwa community and be entertained in their unique tradition, or go for a nature walk. Dinner and overnight at your lodge. (Day 1).

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park in Uganda

In the morning, you will have your breakfast and set off to QENP. You will drive slowly via Ruhija reaching Ishasha sector by 11:00 am to have game drives where you may be opportune to see the tree climbing lions. Continue to QENP reaching early enough for lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge. After lunch, you will enjoy a boat cruise at 3 pm along the Kazinga channel where you will see lots of bird species, crocodiles, hippos, buffalos, and elephants among others. Dinner and overnight stay at Kyambura game Lodge(Luxury)/Ihamba Lodge(Deluxe)/Kingfisher Lodge(Budget).

Day 4: Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale national park.

In the morning, you will go for game drives, where you will see games like lions, bushbucks, antelopes, elephants, water hogs among others. Go back to the hotel for a late breakfast, and relax at the poolside as you wait for your lunch. After lunch, set off to Kibale national park, home of over 13 primate species. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge (Luxury)/Mountains of the moon hotel. (Deluxe)/Chimps Nest Lodge(Budget).

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Nature walk.

In the morning, you will go for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park, where you will encounter other primates as colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons as well as a variety of bird species and flora. After lunch, you will go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary, where you will see a variety of birds and other animals. Dinner and overnight stay (Day 4).

Day 6: Transfer to Kampala.

In the morning after breakfast, you drive back to Kampala, with en route visit to Nakayima tree in Mubende, a historical tree, stop over for photography, reaching Kampala in the evening for dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel(Luxury)/Cassia Lodge(Deluxe)/Landmark view Hotel(Budget).

Day 7: Kampala City Tour and Departure.

In case your departure flight is in the evening, you will have a morning city tour around Kampala, where you will visit the Namugongo Shrines, where the Uganda martyrs were burnt alive for refusing to denounce their Christian faith, the National Museum, Bahai temple, Gadafhi Mosque, the local markets, Kasubi tombs among others. In the afternoon, transfer to Entebbe airport for your departure flight. End of Safari.

Day 1

Pick up Transfer to Kibale forest national park

This 7 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife safari begins with early breakfast at your hotel or pick up from the airport in Kigali and transfer to Kibale forest national park. Our English speaking driver will do his best so that you will enjoy the journey through the Ugandan countryside. It is a scenic drive and once again you will be reminded why Uganda is the Pearl of Africa. Depending on the schedule, we may stop off at Fort Portal for a lunch break.

Day 2

Chimpanzee trekking

After an breakfast, we head out to the park headquarters for the briefing from the park warden before heading to the forest for chimp trekking. Kanyanchu in the central part of Kibale, is the main trailhead for the parks famous forest walks, the most popular of which is the regular Primate Walk. Chimpanzee tracking (trekking) can take up to 3 hours. Chimpanzees are our closet cousins though they are one of the most threatened primates species. Unlike other Uganda chimpanzee locations, we are over 98% certain that you will see the find them here. We find the chimps by listening to their pant-hooting calls, then hustle to the area from which they are calling. Return back to the lodge for Lunch and later go for the afternoon Bigodi swamp walk to search for different bird species.

Day 3

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

An early morning breakfast and leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park (about 2½ - 3 hrs hours ). Driving through Fort Portal town, you turn enter Queen Elizabeth National Park while in a game drive. QENP is surrounded by snow-capped 16,000-foot Rwenzori Mountains, and in the north, "Mountains of the Moon". At least 80% of the wildlife in Queen Elizabeth national park can be found along this Channel. Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge or similar other lodges of your choice.

Day 4

Game drive and afternoon Chimps Tracking in Kyambura Gorge

After early morning breakfast, embark on a game drive towards the Kasenyi track. Lions and other predators are spotted feasting on the big herds of different antelope species. In the afternoon, a chimpanzee trek in Kyambura Gorge or a forest walk in the Maramagambo forest to the Python Cave can be arranged for you. At 1600hr, it’s the afternoon boat safari. We leave or the boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This gives you the opportunity to see wildlife real close; there are hippos, hippos and more hippos. In between are hundreds of birds of all kinds, some crocodiles and of course more hippos, and elephants and buffaloes. It is simply a fabulous, slow boat ride that usually is one of the highlights of a safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 5

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After breakfast in the morning, depart for Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will be able to view the mountain gorillas closely. So this morning you will have breakfast and head for the car to your next destination. We will use the Ishasha sector so that to have chance of seeing the famous tree climbing lions. On the way u will have lunch and head for the park for check in and have dinner and a night’s sleep at silverback lodge, Buhoma lodge, or Buhoma community ground.

Day 6

Gorilla Trekking Activity in Bwindi Forest, Transfer to Lake Mburo

After an early morning breakfast, report to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the mountain gorilla trackers code of conduct. You will then follow different trails in the forest which will last for This activity normally ranges between 2 to 8 hours subject to the movements of the gorillas in the rain forest. The gorillas move to a new location daily and never stay in the same place, twice. When sighted, visitors will be guided to within 5 metres from the gorillas, sit around them for not more than one hour while gazing into their big round eyes. A party of not more than 8 will be allowed to visit a gorilla family each day. Children under 15 are not permitted. In the evening visit the Pygmies (Batwa) for cultural entertainment.

Day 7

Morning Game Drive & Return to Kigali

Breakfast and a morning Game Drive through the savannah or an ultimate treat. Check out Uganda’s wildlife besides the mountain gorillas in Bwindi such as zebra, warthog, buffalo, klipspringer, eland, oribi and waterbuck. Lake Mburo national Park, a haven for “impalas” small antelopes and herbivorous are most concentrated in Lake Mburo of all the Ugandan national Parks. There after embark on a journey driving back to Kigali for your final flight arrangements and departure to mark the successful end of your tour
