The 4 days Rwanda Gorilla Safari / 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla tour offers you an opportunity to explore and get close to the mountain gorillas in detail. This safari comes with a good chance of double tracking which involves you opting to track different gorilla groups or the same group depending on what makes you comfortable. You get to explore the life of gorillas in the Virunga Volcanic Mountains which are found on the Rwandan side by the Volcanoes National Park. This home of gorillas features ten habituated gorilla families specially dedicated for tracking. The Park also features verdant flora thriving at various altitude levels along with fauna like buffaloes and duikers, birds including the Albertine endemics and the sights of the Virunga Volcanoes. The Virunga conservation area is where Volcanoes National Park is located contains 480 gorilla Mountains which are more than the half their world population (880). The rest thrive in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in neighboring Uganda. the safari also incorporates the tour to the twin lakes and Musaze Caves.
This 4 day Rwanda gorilla safari gives you the optional opportunity to track the gorillas twice , (two gorilla families). The safari also offers you an opportunity experience Rwanda culture, golden monkey trekking as well as hiking the Dian Fossey tombs.
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda
On arrival to Kigali Airport Kanombe, you will be welcomed by a guide from Gorilla Adventure tours, who will then drive you to Volcanoes National Park. You will check-in to your hotel where you will have an overnight stay as you get set for your mountain gorilla trekking safari the next day..
Day 2: Gorilla tracking
This is the day you experience your first Rwanda gorilla trekking experience. After your breakfast you will head for the volcanoes national park headquarters for the gorilla tracking briefing where you will be reminded about the Gorilla trekking rules and regulations. You will then be allocated a gorilla group to track and thereafter proceed in to the jungles of Virunga covered in thick rain forest to start your gorilla trek.
The gorilla tracking exercise lasts for between 2 to 8 hours after which you will proceed back to the hotel to relax and have lunch.
Day 3: Second gorilla trek and Cultural experience
Day 3 of your Rwanda Gorilla tour, you will still have an early morning breakfast after which you will proceed back to the Volcanoes park headquarters to enjoy your second gorilla trekking activity. After tracking the gorillas, you will return for lunch at the lodge and relax before going for a cultural walk among the Rwandans (Banywarwanda community).
Day 4: Golden Monkeys, Dian Fossey Hiking and transfer back to Kigali
Early in the morning you will go for golden monkey tracking in the thick jungles, before proceeding to see the Karisoke Research Center and hike the tombs of Dian Fossey an American scientist who did her research on gorillas in Rwanda. Later in the day you will drive back to Kigali for your scheduled flight back home.
Day 1 of 4 days Rwanda Gorilla Safari: Arrival and transfer to Ruhengeri
Upon your arrival at Kanombe International Airport in Kigali, you will be met by a representative from Gorilla Adventure Tours who will welcome you and drive you northwards to Kinigi via Musanze. En route, the journey offers you beautiful sceneries of rolling hills for which the country Rwanda is well known. Day 2 of 4 days Rwanda Gorilla Safari: Gorilla Tracking in PNV
This day will be the highlight of your safari. After breakfast at your lodge or guest house, you will head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing from the RDB wardens. After the briefing, you will then head for gorilla trekking within Volcanoes national park with the rest of the tourists. Your encounter with these man’s closest shy relatives will be a highlight of your Rwanda Safari and the experience you will get this day, will be memorable and your safari will be a once lifetime to remember. Gorilla tracking/trekking can take 2 to 8 hours within this jungle forest and it depends on the movement of the Gorillas on the previous and that particular day. After tracking, you will retire to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Hotel/Hotel La-Palme/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (FB)
Day 3 of 4 days Rwanda Gorilla Safari: Visiting the Dian Fossey
In the morning after breakfast, you will set out the Dian Fossey graveyard at Karisoke. In the afternoon you will visit the twin lakes, do a village walk and also visit a local market. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Hotel/Hotel La-Palme/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (FB)
Day 4 of 4 days Rwanda Gorilla Safari: Transfer back to Kigali and departure
After breakfast at the lodge or guest house, we will transfer you to Kigali city. Upon arrival in the city, you will take a city tour and visit the genocide memorial sites and the traditional markets within Kigali, craft shops and so on. Drop off will be at your Hotel or transfer you to the Airport for your flight back home.
