This 4 Days Rwanda Birding safaris helps you fully explore Nyungwe Rain Forest. The Nyungwe rainforest is located in south-west Rwanda, at the border with Burundi, to the south, and Lake Kivu and the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west. Nyungwe is divided north–south by a line of mountains that reach 2,600–2,900m and which form part of the Congo–Nile watershed. As a result, Nyungwe is composed of two areas differing in pedology, vegetation, water-flow and biodiversity.
The Nyungwe rainforest is probably the best preserved montane rainforest in Central Africa. It is located in the watershed between the basin of the Congo River to the west and the basin of the Nile River to the East. From the East side of the Nyungwe forest comes also one of the branches of the Nile sources.
