1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking, a Special Gorilla Trip in Volcanoes Park
Whether you are in Rwanda for a business holiday or a safari trip, this 1 Day Rwanda gorilla trekking tour satisfies your interest to encounter the mountain gorillas in the Volcanoes National Park. Don’t miss such an amazing lifetime adventure tour to encounter with the endangered mountain gorilla families remaining in only three countries in the whole world; Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo. On this 1 Day gorilla tour, you will wake up early in the morning at about 4:30 am to be driven off to the park headquarters in an exciting 2.5 hours drive before eventually arriving at the park headquarters in Kinigi, Ruhengeri, Musanze province. You can take visually attractive pictures from the different stopovers along the journey and also get to have a cup of coffee.
At exactly 8.00 am, we will be at the park’s headquarters in Kinigi Village where you are briefed by the ranger guides about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations. After the briefing, the guides will distribute you into different groups of 8 persons and a ranger guide before setting you off to start the gorilla trek in the forest. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda takes from 1 hour to about 8 more depending on where the gorillas had been the previous day. The hike is quite strenuous but all the more rewarding once you set your eyes on the gentle mountain gorillas. They always move in a big number with the Silverback at the lead. You will watch them carry about their day to day routine like the juveniles playing, mothers feeding their young ones and the Silverbacks taking watch.
Will I be able to see the Gorilla Family today?
We have often had visitors who are inquistive on whether the gorillas can be seen on a typical gorilla trekking day. But the answer is yes; you are surely able to see the gorilla on your one day trip to the Volcanoes National Park. What makes it possible is the fact that Kigali International Airport is close to Volcanoes National Park and it’s a 2 hours drive on paved roads. Gorilla tracking starts at 8.30 am and so you must assemble at the park’s headquarters in time for briefing. Our guide may talk to the rangers and you are given a close group that takes about 45 minutes, however the experience is awesome. Remember that gorilla permits in Rwanda cost US$ 1500 for each person for a one time usage. Well, that may be looked at as being too expensive but it is all the more breathtaking once you come cross these great mountain gorillas.
You will spend one hour with the gorillas after encountering them, where you will take photography and get all the necessary information. On return, you will meet your driver guide at the starting point and drive back to Kigali reaching in the evening. That will be the end of your 1 Day Rwanda gorilla trekking adventure tour.
